Tezi AI Agent Revolutionizes HR Hiring Processes

The AI landscape is rapidly evolving, and Tezi, an innovative early-stage startup, is harnessing this technology to streamline the hiring process for HR teams. Tezi is developing an AI agent designed to identify ideal candidates, manage interview scheduling, and communicate with applicants. This ambitious project has recently secured $9 million in seed funding to support its journey toward creating a comprehensive, automated recruiting tool.

Tezi’s AI agent aims to go beyond traditional automated resume screening. According to CEO and co-founder Raghavendra Prabhu, the startup leverages large language models (LLMs) to build a more sophisticated recruitment tool. This AI agent is not only adept at filtering resumes based on hiring criteria but also capable of coordinating interviews and handling candidate communications.

Prabhu emphasizes the unique combination of reasoning and natural language processing that sets Tezi apart from existing software solutions. “We saw an opportunity with the new generation of LLMs to create something fundamentally different from what’s historically been done in this space,” he explains.

Addressing Limitations of Current Tools

Tezi’s approach addresses the limitations of existing AI and ML tools in recruitment. Co-founder and COO Jason James highlights that while current technologies can identify top resumes, they still require human intervention for tasks like sending emails and scheduling interviews. Tezi’s AI agent aims to automate the entire workflow, providing an end-to-end solution that goes beyond basic resume ranking.

At this stage, Tezi acknowledges the need for human involvement in the hiring process. The goal is to gradually achieve full automation as models improve. The effectiveness of the AI agent heavily depends on the quality of job descriptions and prompts provided by hiring managers. While automation can introduce bias, Tezi commits to minimizing it.

James notes, “We are focused on ensuring our algorithms do not introduce additional bias. Although we cannot control biased inputs from employers, we strive to objectively match skills and criteria set by hiring managers.”

Training and Development

Tezi trains its models on a vast dataset of 250 million profiles, licensed from data providers. The company collaborates with OpenAI and Anthropic to fine-tune these models to meet specific hiring requirements. This extensive training enables the AI agent to deliver accurate and relevant candidate matches.

Launched at the beginning of this year, Tezi is currently working with 15-20 design customers to refine its product. The startup aims to resolve any issues and prepare for a broader beta distribution later this year. The recent $9 million seed funding, led by 8VC and Audacious Ventures, with contributions from Liquid 2, Afore, PrimeSet, South Park Commons, and industry angels, will also be instrumental in achieving these goals.

In conclusion, Tezi’s AI agent represents a significant advancement in the HR recruitment landscape. By combining advanced AI with comprehensive automation, the startup aims to transform how hiring managers find and engage with potential candidates. As Tezi continues to develop and refine its product, it stands poised to make a lasting impact on the recruitment industry.
