Google Introduces Gemini Mobile App in India with Multilingual Support

Google has launched its Gemini mobile app in India, expanding its AI capabilities to cater to users in diverse linguistic regions. Initially debuted in the U.S., Gemini now supports nine Indian languages alongside English, enabling users to interact with AI-powered features seamlessly.

The Gemini mobile app in India supports the following languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This enhancement allows users across the country to engage with AI functionalities through typing or voice commands in their preferred language.

Advanced Features and Options

Google offers two versions of the Gemini app in India:

  • Gemini 1.0 Pro: Default version available to all users.
  • Gemini Advanced (1.5 Pro): Paid option offering enhanced capabilities, including a 1 million token context window for processing extensive information such as documents up to 1,500 pages and complex data analysis tasks. This version also includes support for the nine Indian languages.

In addition to India, Google has quietly rolled out the Gemini mobile app in Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Android users in these countries can download the app from the Play Store, and iPhone users in India will gain access through the Google app in the coming weeks.

At Google’s I/O developer conference, the company highlighted plans to integrate Gemini into popular apps like Gmail, Google Messages, and YouTube, as well as deeper integration within the Android OS. Initial steps include rolling out Gemini in Google Messages for Indian users in English, with further expansions planned over the next few months.

Global Deployment
