Brave Integrates Leo AI Assistant with Its Search Results

Brave Software, known for its privacy-focused search engine and web browser, is now integrating search results with its Leo AI assistant. This integration utilizes the Brave Search API and incorporates Leo directly into the Brave browser, aiming to provide users with more current information.

With this new feature, users can obtain the latest information such as current sports scores, additional context while reading articles, and relevant topics for social media posts. This integration promises to enhance the overall user experience by delivering timely and pertinent data.

Commitment to Privacy

Brave has emphasized the privacy-centric nature of this integration. Users can use the Leo chatbot without logging in, and they does not store conversations with the AI on its servers. Additionally, the responses generated by Leo are not used for training the AI model. To further protect user identity, requests are first sent to an anonymization server.

For those seeking enhanced features, they offers a Leo Premium subscription at $14.99 per month. This subscription provides higher rate limits and access to the latest AI models. Brave ensures user privacy even with the premium service by issuing unlinkable tokens for subscriptions, preventing personal identification.

Brave has been developing its AI capabilities to attract more users to its browser and search engine. Last year, the company introduced AI-powered summarization to provide users with concise answers to their search queries. In November 2023, they made the Leo AI Assistant available to everyone, and in April, we added an AI Answer engine to enhance query responses.

Brave joins other browsers like Edge, Opera, Arc, and SigmaOS in integrating AI functionalities. However, Brave leverages its unique position of owning both a browser and a search engine to refine and enhance its product offerings.

By integrating AI with search results, Brave aims to deliver a more powerful and user-friendly browsing experience while maintaining a strong commitment to privacy.
